The name of the scheme at the time of the proposal was Mahila Samridhi Yojana Delhi, but now, with the new announcement made by the BJP Government, they are going to change the scheme name to Delhi Laxmi Yojana. In this scheme, the government is going to provide financial support to the women who belong to the economically weak category of the state. All the eligible women of the Delhi state will receive the monthly financial assistance of Rs.2,500/-. Now the BJP-run government of the state of Delhi is going to implement the same scheme across the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, i.e. on 28th August 2026.

Delhi Laxmi Yojana

BJP government of Delhi is now all set to launch this scheme in the state on 28th August 2026, i.e. on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. In this scheme, the government is going to distribute 2500 rupees as monthly assistance to the women of the state. This time before the implementation of this scheme, government making the preparation for fund which is going to be disbursed to the women of the state. All the women of the state who are permanent residents of Delhi and are in the age group from 21 years to 60 years will be eligible to get the benefits of the scheme. The online portal to accept the application form is also going to be live once the eligibility criteria of the scheme are set by the government.

The expected date of Launch of this scheme is about 28 August, as the official announcement is made by the government. Motive for the Laxmi Yojana Delhi

This time, the government is trying to focus on the women of the state. By providing the monthly allowance under the Delhi Laxmi Yojana, the government provides an identity to all the women of the state. To provide financial support to every eligible woman of the state, the Delhi Government also allocates a budget of Rs.5,100 Crore.

In this scheme, the government provides financial support of Rs.2,500 to every eligible beneficiary woman of the state. But to maintain the transparency in the scheme, the government chose the DBT mode of payment, i.e. Direct Benefits Transfer. With the help of this payment mode, the government transferred the scheme amount direct in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Because this is the best way to disburse the amount, concerned officials of the scheme can also examine whether the monthly amount is credited to the account of the beneficiary or not.

Eligibility Criteria For Women

• Residence Status: All the women who are permanent residents of the state of Delhi.
• Age Limit: The age limit of the women must be between 21 to 60 years.
• Economic Status: women must belong to the EWS category, i.e., the annual income of the women must be 2.5 Lakhs.
• Ineligibility: Women with Government Jobs, Pensioners, and taxpayers having four-wheelers are not eligible for the scheme.

Delhi Laxmi Yojana Application Process

This time, the government is completing the preparation to launch this scheme in the state. Now the state government is finalising the official date to launch this scheme in the state on 28th August 2026 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Now, before launching this scheme, there is an online portal already prepared by the Government, and it is going to go live very soon. The application process for this scheme is going to be started very soon, and all the preparation is going to be completed in the middle of August, so that the scheme run smooth after the date of Launch.
