The State government of Assam announced a scheme for the Journalists of the state. This is the first time that any government has launched schemes for its journalists. The scheme is called “ Assam One Time Gram Media Personality Scheme”. This scheme was introduced in 2020 and aims to provide the one time financial assistance. The financial amount given in this scheme is 50,000 rupees. This is a one-time grant provided to any journalist. Every year, the government selects 20 journalists out of all applications, and then they will get the benefit of this scheme. All the documents and eligibility will be checked by the official, and then they will make a list. If any journalist gets this benefit, then he is not eligible for a second time.
Only those journalists will get the benefits of this scheme who have no any affiliation with any of the political parties will get the benefits of this scheme. To provide financial assistance to all the media partners who are working as journalists in the state of Assam, the government launched this scheme. All journalists who have published a minimum of 3 success stories of the government scheme in one year will be eligible to apply for this scheme. After applying for this scheme, you will get the financial assistance of Rs.50,000 each. By launching this scheme, the government wants to encourage these journalist for their work and not to become the puppets of any of the political parties.

If any journalist who is a permanent resident of Assam and having a good name in journalism and the age of journalist is 40 or more than that and having a experience of 15 years at least in this field are eligible. In the scheme journalist having annual income less than 5 lakh and not working in government or semi-Government organization and not associated with any political party can apply for the scheme. In this scheme Rs 50,000 Grant will be given to the journalist.
Every year 20 journalists will be selected for this scheme. They can use this amount to buy gadgets or gear used in journalism, pay their medical bills or invest on thei field of journalism. Assam One Time Grant For Media Personality Scheme Application Process
To avail the benefits of this scheme, you can only apply in the offline mode.
- Get the prescribed application form for this scheme and fill in all the details in the form.
- Have to attach all the documents that are attested by the applicant themselves.
- You have to submit three sets of the application form, and then pack the same in the envelope and write the Application Form of Assam One Time Grant for Media Personality.
