Assam Government is always trying to do the best to empower women in the state. So in 2024, the Assam Government introduced a flagship program in the name of ‘Lakhpati Baideo Scheme’ in favour of women. In this program, women entrepreneurs will get financial assistance from the side of the government, and the government has the target to cover 40 lakh women from all across the state. After the successful implementation of this scheme, the government provide the financial assistance of Rs. 35,000, who have Rs 1 lakh or below. Lakhpati Baideo Scheme
This scheme is also the ambitious scheme of the Assam state, which was announced by the Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The government wants to encourage the women of the state who belong to the Self Help Group, and by getting financial help, they all can become entrepreneurs. The government has the aim to empower women in the state. This scheme is also part of the Prime Minister Scheme Lakhpati Didis. All women can also achieve financial independence and get social and financial security.
Assam government planning to empower 40,000 women under Lakhpati Baideo Scheme. Under this scheme, women who are members of self-help groups will receive financial support as well as training. This is a very good initiative, especially for women, started by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Under this scheme woman will get 10,000 rupees in their first year, for the 2nd year, they will receive 25,000 rupees and 50,000 rupees for the third year. This depends upon their business success and growth.
To implement the scheme, the Assam government allotted a budget of 4000 crore rupees having aimed to boost rural entrepreneurship and provide Financial Independence to women who want to start something new and become entrepreneurs. The scheme will target women of every category. For General and OBC women, up to 3 children, and for SC and ST women, up to 4 children can apply for this scheme. With this scheme, the government will provide free training, e-commerce support, as well as planning and strategy for their business for long-term success. Lakhpati Baideo Financial Assistance details
The government will provide them a total of Rs. 35,000 each to the self-help group women of the state. In which every woman with Seed Capital in the first year will get an amount of Rs. 10,000. Then in the 2nd year, she received Rs. 25,000, which is Rs. 12,500 taken from the bank as a loan and a subsidy of Rs. 12,500 also given by the government as a state Grant. If their business becomes successful, then in the 3rd year, according to their business, the government provide them with Rs. 50,000 more. To provide such kind of financial assistance to the women, the government has a total budget of Rs. 4,000 Crore.

Eligibility Criteria
- Residence: Applicant must be permanently residing in Assam.
- Applicant: The applicant must be a woman of the state.
- Membership: women is the member of the self-help group and must be active members.
- Income Criteria: The family income of the women is not more than Rs. 1,00,000/-.
- Other Participation: The applicant woman must be a part of the income-generating program.
- Business: All the women also have a business plan.
- Bank Details: At the time of applying for this scheme, women must have a valid Bank account linked with an Aadhar Card.

- If you are an active member of any of the registered self-help groups in Assam state, then you need to visit the BDO office in your area.
- You can also contact the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission office and show your interest in being a part of this scheme.
- Collect the Lakhpati Baideo Scheme Application Form.
- Fill this form and submit it with the documents to the same office. Also need to submit your business plan.
